  1. Hi all
Having been doing this(RFF) for about 2 years now. My role involves providing both Science and the Technology(computers) to classes from K-6. Have usually tried to build my technology lessons around what is happening in the class. Our school uses COGS. Mostly use KIDPIX with K-2 and then the iLife suites plus Comic Life with 3-6. Have tried to steer away from word processing or learning touch typing. Most kids have a webpage created in iWeb and they publish work to their page. Will enjoy sharing with other RFFers.

  3. Hi group,
I've been RFFing for 5 years. Networking meetings are a good idea to help share resources.

  7. Hi group
Try this: Quest Atlantis (QA) is an international learning and teaching project that uses a 3D multi-user virtual environment for children ages 9-15 in educational tasks. I'm really into this at the moment and learning lots about it. Here's the URL: http://atlantis.crlt.indiana.edu/

  10. Hi, glad to find to you. I have been RFFing for 20 years come 2010 and have taught a variety of subjects in this time, including Music, Art, Poetry, Indonesian, Science, PDH and in the last 2 years, Technology. Several years ago I ran a support network group out of the Bankstown area, when we had ERC's, so it's great to hear of RFFers teaming up again, lord knows we need the support, we are rarely acknowledged in the teaching profession.

  11. I am the new RFF person at my school. The role has, for some 12 years now, focussed on health and P.E. This year I will be providing computer technolgy training for the kids. I have not taught kindy kids computer skills before. WHat do other computer RFFers do at start of year by way of computer skills/learning for this age group? We have also started a special unit (MA) and have 5 autistic kindy kids which I also have to teach. We have a lab of 16 windows computers. The lab is also equipped with an IWB. Would appreciate suggestions. My initial observation is that their fine motor control and small hands makes it very difficult for most to physically control mouse and to actually log in onto the computers. Thanks.

    1. Find a picture book and do a unit study on it: art, drama, written text; you name it and it can be done.
